FSEA advocates for simplifying the VAT Invoice (Facturas and Factura Fiscals) at the International Monetary Fund meeting

On September 13th, FSEA participated at a roundtable regarding the tax system hosted by IMF. The goal of the meeting was to identify a range of issues that businesses face in relation to Tax Service and to discuss the opportunities for improvement of the tax system.

FSEA president David Smith presented the problem that small businesses encounter when dealing with “Facturas” and “Factura Fiscals”, specifically how much time and money a business waste while collecting these documents. He advocated for simplifying this procedure by excluding the compulsory of these documents. Fact that will save time and money for small businesses and will allow them to concentrate on business development rather than collecting documents. Also he emphasised that this system is unique to Moldova in the Modern European world. A reform in this system brings Moldova into the company of almost all the world’s other nations.

Among other major constraints raised by the private sector were the functionality of E-invoice system, the concerns about some changes suggested by the Ministry of Finance in the Budgetary Fiscal Policy for 2017 regarding recordkeeping of transactions, also interoperability between Tax Service and Customs Service.
